Engineered and produced by long-time collaborator Adam Wes Gregorace. Mixing brilliance from the skilled David Trumpmanis (Something For Kate, You Am I, The Church).

Songs of endings and beginnings, hope lost and found, a journey and the stories along the way.

“Raw emotion and authenticity are the hardest things for a singer/songwriter to get across. Sam, on his newest album Forever & For Now not only delivers them both, lyrically and musically, but does so with a warm embrace. Sounds that harken back to the indie, grand, guitar alt-rock of Boston¹s heroes the Lemonheads and Grant Lee Buffalo, but all fresh for today. Mr Shinazzi¹s finest work, and so well worth embracing yourself. Michael Taylor MD Universal Music Australia

‘Forever & For Now’ is Sam’s fifth album – ten new songs, his best batch yet and recorded accordingly so. Engineered and produced by long-time collaborator Adam Wes Gregorace, with touches of mixing brilliance from the skilled David Trumpmanis (Something For Kate, You Am I, The Church).

Sam has developed into the kind of songwriter and performer that not only has a strong emotional bond with his listeners, but also has the respect of his peers.

A versatile live performer, Sam is at ease playing with his full band, as a duo or solo. As well as countless shows of his own, highlights of his live career include playing alongside Jake Clemons, Bonnie Prince Billy, Lou Barlow, Buffalo Tom, Mountain Goats, Evan Dando, Jose Gonzalez, Josh Rouse, Richmond Fontaine, Crooked Fingers, Darren Hanlon, Holly Throsby, Josh Pyke, Augie March and at festivals such as Peats Ridge, the Great Escape and Sydney Blues and Roots.

He has also had success co-writing, including working with Jenny Queen on all three of her albums.

Sam has toured the USA in 2005, 2009, 2012 and 2014/15, while the CBS television show ’The Unit’ featured his song ’Until Sunrise’ in its entirety during an episode with a worldwide audience and subsequent DVD release.

hhhhappy.com: "Shinazzi masters alternative rock in all its authenticity, having heart and soul at the core of each song. His latest album Forever & For Now is his fifth in an already impressive discography, and this only adds to his reputation as one of Sydney’s most honest songwriters. Shinazzi’s signature throughout the years has been his storytelling. With his heart on his sleeve, this is one singer who comfortably waves a string of narratives throughout his music. Listening to Forever & For Now feels like an intimate experience, providing insight into his life, and I can only imagine seeing Sam Shinazzi live would feel the same".

Track Name: Go
Sometimes you say things that float through my brain
Sometimes you say these words that melt my brain.
And its got me thinking about why I gave up on this life I was making
You’ve got me thinking about why I gave up on this life I was making.

You can take it from me you mean everything that I dream of
You can take it from me you are everything that I believe.
But sometimes things don’t go the way that you plan
She says “Sam, why do you think? Why do you think?”
And I tell her I don’t know, I don’t know but I’ve got to go
I don’t know but I’ve got to go, I’ve got to go.
Track Name: Bones
I’ve been walking around town
I’ve been thinking its time.
I see myself through another life
I’ve been thinking its time to get out.

I’ve got something new to say
I’ve got someone new to see.
Every day is something new
Every time I think of you.

I feel it in my bones
The fear of being alone
Can’t you feel it in your bones?

I went down to the water’s edge
I looked up at the bridge instead.
As the city slept my mind awoke
Every sound, every note.

The black sky was shining bright
It shone down all night.
I walked back to our place
I took a breathe and I saw your face.

I feel it in my bones
The fear of being alone
Can’t you feel it in your bones?

I took a breathe and I saw your face…

I feel it in my bones
The fear of being alone
Can’t you feel it in your bones?
Track Name: Grieving
You were always the one leaving
I was always the one trying to breathe
And now we’re both grieving.

Me, I always believed in time
You, you always dreamed of old times
And now we’re both grieving.

The worse things get the more you try to change
I’m not looking for someone else to blame.
The worse things get the more you try to change
I’m not looking for someone else.

You were always the one leaving
I was always the one trying to breathe
And now we’re both grieving.
Track Name: Keep It
I was wrong to assume that you knew what I’d do.
I thought time had passed by the way that time does expire.
I heard words in my head and they floated through the air,
And they rang out and they rang true and that is what I thought I knew.
Some things take too long but you and I are so strong,
To be defeated by the dimension of passing time.
Keep it to yourself I said, I swear.
Keep it to yourself I need you there.

It’s ok to believe in the things that you see,
But don’t assume what you know and don’t tell me you have to go.
There’s a weight in our world and there are words I want to tell,
And they ring true and they ring loud and they’re forever and they’re for now.

Some things take too long but you and I are so strong,
To be defeated by the dimension of passing time.
Keep it to yourself I said, I swear.
Keep it to yourself I need you there.
Track Name: In Over My Head
You’ll never know what you meant to me
And I believe in things meant to be.
The sun comes up for another day,
And you try to get through it some way.

I’m in over my head…

The years fly by like a train through the night,
You hold on tight until you wake in fright.
I did my best to make you feel alright,
But sometimes the lights they don’t shine so bright.

I’m in over my head…

I tried real hard to try and understand,
Just what it takes to keep a plan.
But when time and distance are not on your side,
The wheels start turning for the longest drive.

I’m in over my head…
Track Name: The Day We Met
I remember when we first really met
At the casino but we did not bet
The stars, the world aligned we were set
And I remember the day we first really met.

You get nervous and I get sad
Sometimes I think of what I used to have
But you remind me of what’s up ahead
And I remember the day we first really met.

All I really want for you is to shine like we know you can do
Shine like we know you can do.

You stepped on to a plane today
You were going on a holiday
You called me from Philly while the Boss was onstage
I held my fist in the air, and I held it there for days.

You stayed out on my balcony
It was Tuesday Alt-Country
And I talked with my heart on my sleeve
You were the greatest company.

All I really want for you is to shine like we know you can do
Shine like we know you can do.

I’m stepping on to a plane today
I’m going on a five week holiday
I’ll call you from Cali’ while the Boss is onstage
Hold your fist in the air, hold it there for days
Please hold it there for days.
Track Name: Ballerina
The sun falls through the day, I’ve got so much I want to say
When I see you across the floor my heart beats just a little more
I could be the one that you’re dreaming to meet
I could make you believe

You look like a ballerina and I want to see you
I want to see you now.

The sun falls through the sky and its you that catches my eye
When I see you across the room its never a moment too soon
I could be the one that you’re dreaming to meet
I could make you believe

You look like a ballerina and I want to see you
I want to see you now.

You move with such grace dancing in the middle of the room
And if I move a little closer, tell me would you notice me in the room?

You look like a ballerina and I want to see you
I want to see you now.
Track Name: Everything's Alright
I used to think it was fate
Its such a small, small world
Dip your feet in the ocean,
Set the wheels in motion.

And every time I turn around
The world keeps getting smaller
I breathe in, I breathe out,
I take step back into the evening light.

Everything’s alright…tonight.

I see you on the early train
Its such a special moment
And everything just slows down
Except for my heart and my racing mind.

I take it as a sign
As something meant to be
The right time, the right place
A destination and your smiling face.

Everything’s alright…tonight.

I notice when you’re not around
Its such an empty space
I count down the hours, the minutes and days
Until I see you again.

Everything’s alright…tonight.
Track Name: Lights Dim
When the lights in your house dim
And you wish you could take back a few things
You’re not that great, but you know its not too late
You just want to put a smile on her face.

You’d never do anything to hurt her
You’d never do anything to make her cry

But now you wonder why you end up here again
The best intentions always get swept away
And its a hard place to fall
Its a hard place to fall.

If you take a step back in time
And you remember all the things you left behind
Its still so real, you wonder if you’ll heal
Sometimes its all you ever think and feel.

You’d never do anything to hurt her
You’d never do anything to make her cry

But now you wonder why you end up here again
The best intentions always get swept away
And its a hard place to fall
Its a hard place to fall.

I told you not to worry, I told you not to cry…
Sometimes some things just happen and you don’t know why.
Track Name: Regrets
We all have regrets
Some worse than others
Some we won’t forget
But if you don’t move forward these regrets will leave you dead
These regrets will leave you dead.

I broke someone’s heart
I broke it in two
I never thought I’d do that
I never thought I’d do it to you.

Now I wake at night
I wake in fright
But if you won’t move forward these regrets will leave you dead
And if we don’t move forward these regrets will leave you dead
And if I don’t move forward these regrets will leave me dead.
